Jose Mourinho will sign a deal to become Manchester United manager in the next two weeks - and will be given a £300million war chest to spend on players.
That is according to the Daily Star, who say United chiefs have made their mind up to appoint the former Chelsea boss.
United reportedly wanted to wait until the end of the season to announce their decision, but now feel forced to reveal the Special One sooner.
Mourinho has been out of work since losing his job at Stamford Bridge earlier this season, overseeing a dismal Premier League title defence.
Mourinho to take Zlatan to Old Trafford?

Jose Mourinho could reportedly signZlatan Ibrahimovic if, as reported, he takes over as Manchester United manager.
Ibrahimovic is widely expected to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season when his current contract with the French champions expires.
The Swede is open to the move, but does not want to play under Louis van Gaal, according to the Daily Star.
Mourinho coached Zlatan at Inter Milan.
Rooney counting on kids

Wayne Rooney is acting as a father figure to Manchester United's youngsters - and is counting on them to end his decade-long FA Cup frustration, writes Mirror Football's John Cross.
He said: “Of course I try to help them. We’re all trying to win together. When I joined the club at 18 Giggsy was about 30 and I saw the help and advice he gave me at that age.
“So if I can help those young players in any way now, I’m happy to do that. I’ve been doing that, but not only that - they can help me as well.
"You’re always learning and especially in the last few games learning about a new position and playing deeper than I’ve played. I’ve been enjoying it."
Herrera: De Gea is world's best

Ander Herrera reckons David De Gea is now the best goalkeeper on the planet.
Spain keeper De Gea was Manchester United ’s Wembley hero after his stunning penalty stop from Romelu Lukaku as they reached the FA Cupfinal.
United midfielder Herrera then claimedteam-mate and countryman De Gea is now better than the likes of Manuel Neuer, Gigi Buffon, Petr Cech and Hugo Lloris.
He said: “He is the number one in the world.
"In England you know that, but in the rest of the world they think they have better goalkeepers — but I don’t think so."
